It’s been a long time since I have sat, I must confess. I used to like to get up in the morning and sit for a half-hour and then sit at night for another half-hour before going to bed. But I just don’t do it anymore. Yet I think about doing it everyday.
(By the way, a piece of trivia, when I learned to meditate, we didn’t use cushions. We sat cross-legged on the hard floor. Cushions were for wimps :)
Now instead, I tend to do my Om Mani Padme Hums in the shower or while I’m having my coffee or I’m doing dishes or while the dog is taking me for a walk.
I like a routine. I like doing the same things daily, not so much on a schedule but rather in an order. But I move around a lot and it’s difficult to get into a routine. I housesit and each house I go to has its own routine, not really one of my own making. The animals that I take care of tend to create the schedules for me.
I try not to beat myself up for not sitting.
