Even in the days of modern technology, often times we still have to wait for images and data to load into view. WAITING TO LOAD is another one of my studies of the places in between.

This series is an abstract measurement of time, the time in between the calling up of an image and the moment the image comes into focus. Each image in this portfolio contains the meditative focal point, in varying degrees of focus, of the perfect circle of the waiting period.

These images were made from random screen-shots found in my Instagram feed while using a very slow mobile phone connection. They are a sideways continuation of the LAGTIME project, a meditation on the concept of the spaces in between, the concept of now, while asking the questions: When is a digital image an image? How many moments are there in one image? Is each moment its own image? It makes me wonder how these questions and concepts relate to other variables in out lives, or even our own life span.

WAITING TO LOAD also considers the creation of a multidimensional construct, or where the images come from as they come into focus.

Series began 2019. Ongoing.

Gallery/Museum limited edition prints are not yet created.
