WAITING TO LOAD is another study of the places in between.
While LAGTIME came out of the spaces in between moving video, WAITING TO LOAD is a measurement of time in between the creation of an image and the time it takes to come into focus. Each image contains the meditative focal point of the perfect circle of the waiting period, some of them stronger than others.
These images were made from random photographs through my Instagram feed on a very slow cell phone connection. It begs the question, when is a photograph a photograph, or at least a finished photograph? How many layers are there in one photograph? This series also makes me think of multidimensions, of where the images come from as they come into focus.
They are also an experiment with light.
Studies for potential paintings.
